We are finally having some cooler weather here in central Florida. I was really getting tired of the 90 degree weather. All the windows are open to let in the cooler breezes! It is in the mid-70's here which is not exactly cool for some people, but for Floridians, it is awesome! The family will all come over this evening for dinner and some spiced cider. Sure it is a little warm for this for MOST people, but not for us!
While we were up North a couple of weeks ago we bought some mulling spices that are in the form of tea bags. How easy is that? You take your old (or new) coffee urn, put apple cider where the water goes and then the mulling spice "tea bags" where the coffee would go, and voila! You have spiced cider after it percolates! Yummy! I am making something with apples (we bought a bushel while up there as well) and pecans. Thinking about making apple crisp again, but with pecans. I made it last weekend since it is my son's favorite apple dessert.
I'll keep the windows open and let the cool air in so we can feel like it is actually Fall here! We are coming into the best time if year. THIS is why I live in Florida!
