Vacation Coming Up!

I will be vacationing later on this month. We are visiting the family up North and then maybe a short trip to Vermont. I miss the Fall weather living down here in Florida and, to me, the weather should be cool right about now. Uh huh, yeah. It is usually still in the 90's here during September and then in the upper 80's for October. No crisp cool mornings for us! Those will arrive in December. This is the time of year when I really miss New York weather. Of course come January when they have icky ice and snow I stop missing it completely.

My husband, who is 51 years old, actually still has a grandmother living in PA. We will visit there since it has been way too long since he saw her! She will be 99, I think, come November. Damn! I feel terribly that we just don't make that trip up there. My grandfather lived to 100 in fairly good health and now my husband's grandmother appears to be doing the same. We gave our kids some damn fine genes! (Shh, we won't talk about the strokes, heart attacks and cancers in the family!) Here's hoping they inherited both of their great grandparents genes!
