I have finally gotten back into my healthier eating plan, again. I lost a bunch of weight (30 lbs.) a few years ago and now it has been creeping back up there. Maybe 10 lbs. I feel gross! I am a total sugar NUT! Holy cow, sugar is going to kill me one day!
See that really nice photo from my daughter's wedding? Well I don't look like that anymore. Even there I had gained back some of the weight I lost from pre-wedding anxiety. I like to eat. Did I mention the SUGAR addiction? I am also a really good cook. Have apples in the house? Whip up a few apple turnovers. Hey, it is fruit, right? My family loves my cooking and I have a few signature things that they ask for, a lot! Biscuits. Muffins. Ack! My dad's birthday cake the other day (he turned 80!) was made with:
9 eggs
4 teaspoons vanilla
16 oz. (yes, one pound) of chocolate chips
1 cup of heavy cream
4 sticks of butter (yes, one pound)
1 cup of sugar
The ganosh topping:
1 cup of heavy cream
12 oz. chocoalte chips
Oh my God! It is really good but I can't believe that I made it AND ate it!
Today is a new leaf. I am trying to de-sugar myself. Wish me luck!!
