It has already rained here in central Florida and it was before noon! At least we've cooled off to the upper 70's for now. Looks like we'll have a cloudy day so I will consider this a perfect reading day. Laundry is finished, dinner is planned and yard work is as finished as it will get!
Right now I am reading
The Golem's Eye by Jonathan Stroud which is the second book in the Bartimaeus trilogy. I really enjoyed the first book,
The Amulet of Samarkand, but am having trouble getting into this one. In over 200 pages, I am still feeling a little like the book is disjointed. I still think the story is good and I love how the author puts footnotes to the thoughts of Bartimaeus (hysterical!) but it just isn't catching my attention as well as the first book. Of course it could be me and it could be that I have the next Sookie Sackhouse book sitting on the counter waiting for me.
After this book it is back to Sookie for a while. Sometimes I just need to have a little book candy to read. The books are short, they are entertaining and quite adult!
