My Dog's Allergies

We have a dachshund with really sensitive skin. She's a redhead so what can we do? Her allergies are so bad that she licks herself until she gets a skin infection. Gross. We tried Benadryl twice a day and then even three times a day! Nothing. Then we had to use a cotton ball and wipe peroxide on her belly and chest (where the rash starts) and rub in cortisone cream on the affected areas. What a pain but at least the poor dog got relief. Now, we have to put her in a 6-9 mos. Onesie to take her out! The vet said that putting her in the Onesie will keep the pollens off of her skin as much as possible. I'm all for anything that will help the poor little thing. She gets so itchy sometimes! Sadly as a dachshund she is low to the ground so cutting the grass short is not really any help. Here she is modeling the latest in dachshund Onesies!

Have you considered getting her some platform shoes?

  2. Maybe I should get her some sparkly platforms and make her disco doggie!
