New GED Rules

Chalk this up to what, insanity? Or just plain old government. Florida USED to have an option for high school students to take the GED test and then get the regular high school diploma and get out of there! Hold on now! No more! A student who takes the GED now will get the same equivalency diploma as a student who dropped out and then took the GED. As a homeschooler I don't really care too much about this but as a citizen I think it is nuts. Who knew there was a way to bypass a bit of high school to get out and move on? Hell, no! Not anymore! I believe the reasoning is that if most kids have to endure all 4 years of high school, then everyone does, too! How sad. I hate to see options taken away from students.

  1. So basically, unless you've served your full sentence, there isn't an escape.

Follow the money. If the kid's butt isn't in the seat, the school isn't getting the money.

This isn't about education at all, is it?

Gee, do you suppose the GOVERNMENT educational system is nothing more than a racket?

Gosh, I sure hope they take over my health care soon!!
